For the 2023 edition, LUCCA Comics & Games Festival invited Studio MinaLima to create
a headline exhibition at the San Cristoforo Church in the historic city centre.

 

For five days in November, the medieval church was transformed into an immersive showcase of the graphic work of Studio MinaLima, featuring the MinaLima Classics and Harry Potter MinaLima Edition books along with an array of original film props from the Harry Potter films as seen in The Magic of MinaLima. 

 

Using custom-made cutouts over three metres tall, we created a larger-than-life installation
of books taking visitors on a journey through their favourite stories. With original illustrations and behind-the-scenes insights throughout, visitors got a look into the studio’s design process. A pop-up retail space accompanied the exhibit, selling all of the books on display and a specially-designed limited edition art print celebrating LUCCA Comics & Games.

 

During the festival the exhibition saw over 30,000 visitors, making it one of Lucca Comics & Games’ most successful guest exhibits.
